Ronnie Drillsma,  Autumn Light Exhibition,  October 2017

Ronnie enjoys the dramatic change in the seasons, non more so than Autumn.  Her autumnal palette consists of enriched warm tones with softly worn edges, giving way to the Blues and Lilacs that hint of Winters’ touch.  Some of her pieces are painted or printed onto dark coloured paper, which creates a background in which the lighter shades can glow like house lights at dusk. The scenes begin as drawings and the colour comes from observing nature letting the changing drama unfolds.
